Agreement Response

I entirely agree with RmKinney's post regarding the poor choices in candidates that were available to us in the recent 2016 election for presidency. As far as Trump and Clinton are concerned, they both definitely have faults that prevent this country from achieving any positive progression and far from any greatness. Although Clinton hasn't been sworn into presidency it can be expected from light that has shined on issues from her past that she would be a disgrace to many women out there to take office as the first female president.

I also agree that Trump is definitely not a good current president and he is selfish in his own interests not concerned for the better good for the country. Having the house and senate majority republican gives the president an edge and having people working for him that agree with all his policies makes it easy for the president to shape the government in his favor and get things to work biased. It is unfortunate to see the day we live in a country when a person puts his needs in front of an entire nations.

Finally I agree with RmKinney with the concern of the presidents constant want to increase punishments for people who aren't white and male. The president is out to get colored people because he believes they ruin the country when in fact they offer diversity and services. Often times the President will support pardoning a white male person who commits a crime on the basis of mentally ill, but when it's a person of color he is adamant that they are out to get the nation and doesn't even take into consideration psychological factors.

In the recent article written by Thomas L. Friedman titled "If Only Stephen Paddock Were a Muslim" , Friedman discusses the unquestionable and active choice that legislators and the president are making to avoid changes in the gun control policy. After the unfortunate Las Vegas incident, Friedman discusses how he barely thought there would've been a change seen by the government regarding gun control policies, but even that little hope was a disappointment. Friedman continues to say that in the event Stephen Paddock hadn't been a white American man labeled as "mentally ill" and had been a Muslim man, there might've been immediate enforcement by President Trump to do whatever it is to fix such an act of public "terrorism". This article by Think Progress titled "The criminal investigations into Harvey Weinstein" discusses the ongoing case of Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein who has allegedly sexually harassed or assaulted nearly 60 women. This article was written by author Jessica M. Goldstein. Goldstein uses critical evidence to show the multiple cases and women who have confessed to being sexually offended by Weinstein. On multiple occasions women talk about the way they felt objectified because of the way Weinstein addressed them. Acting with these women in such an inappropriate manner has put Weinstein in a compromising position for his career and his future. Goldstein uses appropriate evidence from the NYPD, the UK police, and even the LAPD, to provide evidence into the ongoing cases against Weinstein.
